Introduction
At the Final Goodbye, I focus completely on providing pet owners throughout the Cotswolds, Cheltenham, Cirencester and surrounding areas with an unrushed, compassionate, at-home euthanasia service, eliminating the anxiety and stress that both the pet owner and pet can feel about having the procedure done at their veterinary practice.
Deciding that your pet needs to be put to sleep is always an incredibly challenging time, and many owners understandably struggle to make the decision. I believe Euthanasia is the final act of care you can show for your pet, and relieves the suffering they can experience through illness, injury or old age.
Who am I?
My name is Dr Jenny Bajwa and I graduated from Bristol Veterinary School in 2010. Since then, I have worked locally as a small animal vet in Gloucestershire for 16 years and gained a certificate of Advanced Veterinary Practice as well as attaining CAETA certification, an extra qualification focused entirely on peaceful euthanasia . I currently live in the Cotswolds with my husband, two children and two rescue dogs, Fudge and Pingu.
I strongly believe that when the time comes, all pets have the right to a calm, dignified death which allows them to avoid any suffering. I have a vast amount of experience supporting pet owners throughout their entire pet owning journey, and especially during euthanasia; arguably the hardest time.
I promise to make saying the final goodbye to your pet dignified, respectful and peaceful so that you can focus wholly on your pet and the unique bond you have together, throughout.
What happens?
1. Initial contact
I will speak to you to discuss your pet’s quality of life and help to support you in your decision that that the time is right. During this time, I will go through everything and answer any questions or concerns you have.
2. Book a visit
We schedule a home visit at time which suits you. I will always aim to accommodate your specific preferences as much as possible – just let me know your requirements.
3. Sedative
I will give your pet a sedative which means they will be fully relaxed and calm throughout the procedure.
4. Final goodbye
Once your pet is fully asleep and unaware of anything, I will give the euthanasia solution to allow them to drift away peacefully in the comfort, familiarity and privacy of your own home.
Afterwards
There are three choices available to you following the euthanasia of your pet:
Home burial
You may choose to bury your pet at home, on private ground.
Communal cremation
Your pet is cremated with other pets (there is no option for return of ashes).
Private cremation
Private cremation – your pet is cremated individually and their ashes are kept fully separate from any other pets and can then be returned to you.
I work closely with Ashley, from the Atypical Pet Crematorium in Winchcombe and Giles at E & P Services, Fosse Cross, who provide aftercare for your companion with the utmost respect and compassion. You are of course also entirely free to choose your own cremation service not mentioned, or your own vets may be able to assist you.

Prices are for home visit and euthanasia only, within a 10 mile radius of where I am based in Gloucestershire, GL54 4.
Travel to locations beyond a 10 mile radius are charged at an additional £2 per mile each way.
Hours
There is surcharge for a same day call out (subject to vet availability) of £80.
Out of hours (subject to vet availability – please contact me to enquire).
Weekday (Monday – Friday) evening appointments between 5pm and 8pm have an additional surcharge of £75.
Weekend or bank holiday visits (9 – 5pm) have an additional surcharge of £120.
After 8pm on a weekday or 5pm on a weekend or bank holiday, there is a £250 surcharge.
Transport
Transport of your pet to The Atypical Pet Crematorium, Winchcombe, can be arranged on request.
Payment
Please note, once a visit has been confirmed, payment in full is taken via BACS or a payment link prior to the visit.
In the event of your pet passing prior to the visit being made, a £30 administration fee will be charged, and if you have already paid for our services in full, we will refund this to you minus the administration fee.
If you pet passes whilst I am already en route to you, you will receive a refund of the total fee, minus the mileage travelled (rate of £2 per mile each way) plus a £30 administration fee.
